This workshop will be accredited by the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) under the Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programme..

First-time screening of workplace health videos in cinemas and online on YouTube.

You may have seen or heard about these “horror stories” that can happen at your workplace through emails, word-of-mouth or even caught a glimpse while queuing to buy movie tickets at the cinema.

Early this year, the Health Promotion Board (HPB) launched three short video clips, 'Snack Attack', 'Second-hand killer', and 'Stressful!' online on the Health@Work website, YouTube and at Cathay Cineplexes islandwide.

Focusing on healthy eating, quitting smoking, and managing stress, the videos promote workplace health messages using dark humour and the tagline “Don’t let this happen in your workplace”.

Most health promoters enjoyed the comical relief and found it an innovative way to drum home the message that unhealthy habits can lead to grave consequences.

"HPB’s online viral videos are innovative and yet effective initiative in spreading the importance of health at the workplace,” said Mr Boy Arvadino Hadisantoso, Business Analyst from Oracle Corporation Singapore.

“The videos say a thousand words and leave a longer impression in our minds. An excellent advertising strategy by HPB! Keep it up!"

HPB hopes the videos will encourage more employers and employees to start Workplace Health Promotion Programmes at their workplaces.

Listing of WHP Consultants.

As part of HPB's continuous efforts to generate more interest in the Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) arena and to build the capacity of WHP consultants in Singapore, a new initiative to list WHP consultants on the Health@Work website was recently introduced. In conjunction with this listing, a training course for Workplace Health Consultants was also launched.

Listing of WHP consultants on the website will be for a period of one year. HPB will perform a yearly review of the listing based on the criteria of quality of WHP consultancy and customer feedback.

If you have used the services of any of the listed WHP consultants, do not be surprised if HPB comes knocking at your door for feedback on services rendered by the listed consultants.

Short Course for Workplace Health Promotion Consultants

HPB organised a 4-day training course in March for WHP Consultants. This course targets Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) service providers and wellness managers from the workplaces.

This course provided participants with the foundational knowledge in health behaviours, principles of WHP, approaches to marketing WHP programmes, and the inter-play between various organisational variables such as organisational structure, culture and policies, which can affect an individual’s health.

The course also equipped participants with the skills in planning, implementing and evaluating WHP programmes.

“Clients today look towards us to provide them with innovative WHP programmes and solutions. This course has provided me with great ideas and useful tips on how to plan and design interesting programmes for my customers. It has also help to honed my consultancy skills, “ said Ms Jenny Goh, Nutritionist from Fitness & Health International.

Dr Kelvin Goh from North East Pte Ltd added: “ I found the course comprehensive, relevant and useful for our work in workplace health promotion.”

The next training course will be held in Sept 08. If you are interested, please contact Workplace Outreach at 6435 3704.
