The details of the North Zone Championship Round are as follows:

Zonal Championship Round Format:
Participants will be seated on stage and they will take turns to spell aloud words read to them by a Pronouncer. Participants can ask relevant questions to help them with the spelling. (Please refer to Rules and Regulations section.)

A new word will be given to each participant to be spelled aloud each time. A participant who spells the word incorrectly or is unable to spell the given word within a time limit of 1 minute will be eliminated.

The top speller of each zone will get a confirmed slot in the Grand Final on Saturday, April 28.

Things to note:

  1. The NSC participants must be in full school uniform with their names or nametags clearly visible on their uniforms.
  2. Pupils are required to bring along their student passes for verification
  3. All schools must make arrangements to ensure the safety of their own pupils.
    We strongly recommend the presence of a teacher in-charge, school AE or PSG parents to supervise their own pupils at this event.
  4. Teachers and parents are invited to be part of the audience during the Zonal Championship Round.  
  5. After registration, they may enter the hall when given the signal.
  6. All their personal belongings must remain in their bags and they must place the bags with the teacher in-charge, school AE or PSG parents.

Parents and supporters are cordially invited to be part of the audience during the Zonal Championship round. Due to space constraint, each school is allowed a limited number of guests. Please approach the school teacher-in-charge for more information.


Please note that parking spaces are limited and vehicles may not be allowed in the premises of the school. Parents and supporters who drive may park outside the premises of the school at their own liability.
